  •                Do Reader Response #1: In your opinion, what is the central idea that the author wishes to convey in    this section?  How do you know?  Provide evidence and examples from the text to support your claim (use quotes).

                           INSTEADFirst, carefully read comma usage rules. Next complete
                        Comma Exercises; Copy and paste this page into MS Word.  Place a comma where 
                     you feel it is necessary. In addition, however, also include the rule 
                     number that applies to justify your decision. For example, #2 would  
                     look like this:  2. As he read the Chekhov story, (rule 2) he became aware of
                     the Russian's genius. Submit assignment to Ulearn by 9pm today (9/21).

                      Do Reader Response #2:  Franke:  In a response of at least 300
                      words, explain the doiminant impression Franke creates for
                      her interviewee in her essay and post this to the message
                      board.  Explain how the author goes about creating a
                      dominant impression.  What techniques does he use? What is
                      the dominant impression and is this impression adequately
                      developed and/or clear in the essay? Explain your reasoning and 
                      provide specific examples from the essay.

                      words to the Gilmore essay answering the questions
